Meet The Team: Fatima Mossolem

Fatima Mossolem is a current first year medical student at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine. Her basic science and public health background has lead to her passion for making research accessible and fun for all who choose to participate. Fatima graduated with a duel B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from St. John’s University as well as with her M.S. in Human Nutrition from Columbia University. Her research experience encompasses everything from wet bench work to serving on an IRB approving clinical trials. Fatima has worked as a botanist in a genomics lab, a chemist in a physical chemistry lab, as a member of the public health office for the Armenian government Covid roll out, a nutritionist at Mt. Sinai, and a data and regulatory specialist with NYU’s clinical trials department. Outside of academics Fatima is focused on binging everything on Netflix, hiking, and spending as much time with her cat as possible. Her passion is dragging her friends out to try new restaurants while maintaining her elite Yelp status. Currently she is enjoying learning how to write systematic reviews, helping on a OMM clinical trial, and trying to re-learn “R” without crying every time she opens an excel sheet. Outside of research, Fatima’s passion is truly in service and making healthcare accessible for all. She has spent the last few years teaching refugees English and started a program in the refugee community for medical professionals to learn English enabling them continue working in the U.S. as doctors and nurses.
